One arrested in Pittsfield stabbing incident

The victim, who was not identified by the Pittsfield Police Department, is expected to survive.

Pittsfield Resident Jason Wright, 40, has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident that took place on Wednesday, April 16.

According to a press release issued by Police Lieutenant John Soules, at around 2:52 a.m., officers were dispatched to a multi-family dwelling on Woodlawn Avenue.

When officers arrived, they encountered a 60-year-old man who had sustained a stab wound. The victim, who was not identified in the press release, was transported to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment and is expected to survive despite their serious injury.

After an investigation, the department arrested Wright and has charged him with Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault and Battery on a Person aged 60 or Over.

The department is looking for information and tips in connection to the incident.
