Nora Shacar O’Brien, 84, of Lenox

Funeral services and calling hours will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Lenox Scholarship Fund or St Ann's Church in care of Roche Funeral Home.

Nora Shacar O’Brien of Lenox died peacefully March 13, 2023 surrounded by her loving family and caretakers.

Nora was born October 28, 1938 in Pinar del Río, Cuba, the daughter of Michael and Herminia Hernandez Shacar. She resided in Lenox most of her life. She operated several women’s clothing stores throughout the years including Nora’s Boutique. A licensed real estate broker, she also had her own real estate business, Lenox Village Realty. She was a member of St Ann’s church and was very active in many local charities and community groups, including the Lenox Chamber of Commerce, the Women’s Club, Civitan, and Tanglewood Volunteers. She was passionate about the town of Lenox, politics, and her grandchildren.

Nora was predeceased by her husband, George “Bud” O’Brien on Dec. 6, 2014, whom she married, February 5, 1971 (43 years). She is survived by her five children, Noreen Favero (Al) of Cornelius, N.C., Susan Parsley of Lenox, William Parsley (Amy) of Darien, Conn., Kerrie deBoissieu ( Xavier) of Leynes, France, Lance O’Brien (Betsy) of Summit, N.J.; her sister, Martha Thompson (William) of Dalton; her brother, Carlos Shacar (Sandy) of Lanesborough; her grandchildren, Matt (Emily), Samantha, Sonny (AuBree), Allison, Michael, Basile, Zoe, Cooper, and Hunter; and her great-grandchild, Xylia.

Roberta A. ‘Bobbie’ Nussbaum, 90, of Egremont

A funeral service for Roberta 'Bobbie' Nussbaum will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, conducted by Rabbi Barbara Cohen. Burial will follow at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Francis Thomas Duke Jr., 82, of Lenox

The funeral for Mr. Francis T. Duke will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church in Lenox, with Rev. Michael Tuck officiating. Burial will be private in Corashire Cemetery in Monterey. There will be no calling hours.
