West Stockbridge — Several fire departments reported to the scene of a fire at 5 Albany Rd. on Friday, Jan. 20.
The property is the location of Amici Restaurant.
According to West Stockbridge Fire Chief Steve Traver, the fire started in the kitchen earlier this morning and was extinguished by 10 a.m.
Traver said that there was moderate damage to the kitchen itself, including damage from smoke.
He said that the building also has extensive smoke damage and that there is some extensive damage to the back wall of the building.
Traver said that fire departments from Richmond, Lenox, Stockbridge, Lee, Great Barrington, Sheffield, Egremont, and departments in New York from Lebanon and Red Rock, all assisted West Stockbridge in the fire.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire.
Traver added that there is no cost estimate on the damage to the building and that the Fire Marshall is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
