Niall Stewart Nordoff, 41, of Great Barrington

A vigil will be held at the Christian Community on Saturday Jan. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 28, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2023, at the Christian Community Church.

Niall Stewart Nordoff was born April 14, 1982 at BMC in Pittsfield. He died on Wednesday, January 24, 2023, in an accident in Great Barrington.

Niall grew up in North Egremont and attended the Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School, Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School, High Mowing High School, and graduated from Mt. Everett Regional High School.

Niall’s primary work and passion involved landscaping and gardening, including masonry and installations. He loved cooking, inventing recipes, and presenting them like works of art. Niall loved nature, working with the earth, and especially flowers. His bouquets were paintings.

Niall is survived by his parents, Anthony Nordoff and Bonnie Nordoff; his brother Cy Nordoff (Meg); his sister Jessica Nordoff; his nephews, Cooper Nordoff, Parker Potoski, and Fynn Whalan; his niece Suzanna Nordoff; his aunt Sylvia Nordoff; his uncle Guy Nordoff; his cousins, Shane Meador and Takoda Nordoff; his stepmother Christi Nordoff; his stepbrother Mat Inglis; and his stepsister Amy Inglis.

A vigil will be held at the Christian Community on Saturday January 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, January 28, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Sunday, January 28, 2023, at the Christian Community Church, 10 Green River Lane, Hillsdale, NY, 12529.
