Pignatelli announces $4 million to Southern Berkshires through Chapter 90 legislation
Boston — Rep. William “Smitty” Pignatelli, D-Lenox, has announced that over $4 million has been allocated to the 4th Berkshire District by the state House of Representatives for road and bridge work, through H.4367, “An Act financing improvements to municipal roads and bridges,” which was passed favorably Thursday.
The bill authorizes $200 million in Chapter 90 transportation funds for road-related construction projects for municipalities in the Commonwealth. A total of $4,219,692 will be distributed among the towns of Alford, Becket, Egremont, Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, Monterey, Mount Washington, New Marlborough, Otis, Richmond, Sandisfield, Stockbridge, Tyringham, Washington, Blandford, Russell and Tolland.
The Senate is scheduled to take up the bill this week.
