Man charged in Superior Court with murder

Pittsfield — A Bronx, New York, man was arraigned Wednesday (March 13) in Berkshire County Superior Court on the charge of murder.

Lance Burke, 40, was charged in the Nov. 3, 2018, shooting death of David Green Jr., 30, of Pittsfield. Burke is accused of shooting Green in the neck while Green sat in a pickup truck near Spring and Willow streets in Pittsfield. Green died a few days later.

“Today’s homicide arraignment is the result of a rigorous investigation by the Pittsfield Police Department and strong teamwork between law enforcement and prosecutors,” Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington said. “My job is to seek justice for victims and their families. My office will continue to prosecute this case with competence and integrity.”

A pre-trial hearing in the case was set Wednesday for Monday, Sept. 9. Burke was held without bail.

A Berkshire County grand jury handed down an indictment last week charging Burke with first-degree murder, carrying a firearm without a license and carrying a loaded firearm.
