Town sets trick-or-treating for Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Great Barrington — Halloween trick or treat will take place Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Only Great Barrington residents, including residents of Housatonic village, may participate.

The event is contingent upon the town remaining at low risk for COVID-19 according to the state’s COVID-19 map. There will be no rain date.

Trick-or-treaters must:

  • Wear a COVID-compliant mask, keep safe distances from others and not congregate;
  • Stay on their own streets or in their own neighborhoods, and limit the number of homes they visit;
  • Only visit homes that have porch/exterior lights on;
  • Sanitize their hands frequently; and
  • Make sure younger children have parental supervision.

Residents must:

  • Turn off their porch lights if they do not wish to participate; and
  • Limit interactions as much as possible by handing out candy with tongs or with gloves on, or setting up a grab-and-go station.

Questions may be directed to the town manager’s office at (413) 528-1619 x2.
