News Brief: Parking alert for Great Barrington

Parking will be prohibited in the upper Railroad Street parking lot from Wednesday, June 12, through Friday, June 14, in order to install new streetlights in the area.

Downtown construction to affect parking in Railroad Street’s Taconic lot

Great Barrington — During the week of Monday, June 10, work will include installing of sidewalks on Railroad and Bridge streets. All sidewalks should be completed at the end of the week.

Parking will be prohibited in the upper Railroad Street parking lot from Wednesday, June 12, through Friday, June 14, in order to install new streetlights in the area. Alternative overnight parking spots are available at Town Hall.

Church Street will get its base course of pavement on Wednesday, June 12, to be followed by other preliminary paving and shimming operations project-wide.

Work will begin daily at 6 a.m. The streets will be open to traffic, with police officers directing traffic when necessary.

Street paving will take place the following week of Monday, June 17.
