News Brief: Congressional Art Competition entries on display

The exhibition will remain up through this weekend and the winner will be announced next week.

Congressional Art Competition entries on display

Springfield — Rep. Richard E. Neal, D-Springfield, announced this week that the 2018 entries for the Congressional Art Competition from the 1st Congressional District are now on display at Center Court in Tower Square.

The 61 entries came from high school students across western and central Massachusetts including Agawam High SchoolGranby Junior-Senior High SchoolJohn Dewey Academy in Great Barrington, Longmeadow High SchoolPalmer High SchoolPope Francis High SchoolRoger L. Putnam Vocational-Technical AcademySt. Mary’s Parish School in Westfield, and Wahconah Regional High School in Dalton. One student is homeschooled.

The exhibition will remain up through this weekend and the winner will be announced next week. The winner’s artwork will be hung in the U.S. Capitol for one year along with that of the other winners from across the country.
