GREAT BARRINGTON — Bernay Fine Art will debut its new gallery space, at 296 Main Street (on the corner of Main and Railroad streets), with a new “Winter Group Show,” on Saturday, Feb. 13.
Bernay co-directors and co-owners, the brother and sister team of Lou and Paula Friedman, pulled up stakes at their former 325 Stockbridge Road location at the end of the year, and moved into their new home last week. “The lease was up on our original space outside of town,” said Lou. “This new space is perfect and we’re happy to be in the center of town.”

The exhibition will feature one or two works from most of the artists the gallery represents, said Lou, giving new viewers a taste of Bernay’s portfolio. The award-winning group of artists produce a wide range of work, from intimate drawings and precise landscapes to abstract pieces and even a gigantic polar bear watercolor by Phil Knoll. Included will be art by Stephanie Anderson, Diane Ayott, Warner Friedman, Phil Knoll, Chenta Laury, Sandy Litchfield, Sue Muskat, Hideyo Okamura, Dana Piazza, Scott Prior, Janet Rickus, Nadine Robbins, Karin Schaefer, Lynda Schlosberg, Sonya Sklaroff, Barbara Takenaga, David Vickery, and Michael Zelehoski. The majority of these artists, said Lou, have a connection to the Berkshires.
“Winter Group Show” will run through the end of March. Presidents Day Weekend hours are Saturday–Monday from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. All COVID-19 guidelines will be strictly enforced.
