Nettie Lokker, 80, of Great Barrington

Nettie enjoyed going to the Claire Teague Senior Center, gardening, coloring, playing solitaire and word puzzles.

Nettie H. Lokker, 80, of Great Barrington died Sunday, July 9, at Fairview Commons Nursing Home in Great Barrington. Nettie was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on July 2, 1937, the daughter of August and Helen (Whelpley) Diller. She was a graduate of Dickinson High School in Jersey City, class of 1956.

Nettie’s husband, William W. Lokker – whom she married on November 15, 1958, at the United Second Presbyterian Church in Jersey City – predeceased her on February 21, 2005.

Nettie enjoyed going to the Claire Teague Senior Center, gardening, coloring, playing solitaire and word puzzles. Nettie is survived by her son, Matthew Lokker of Great Barrington; her daughter, Denise Lokker of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Amanda and Clayse; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Nettie H. Lokker will be held Saturday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington. Condolences may be made through birchesroyfuneralservices.com.

A memorial service is planned at Roche Funeral Home in Lenox on Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at Mazzeo's Ristorante in Pittsfield.
