To the editor:
My name is Nadine Hawver. I have had the privilege of living most of my life in and serving the Town of Sheffield for the last six years aas selectman. I am running for re-election because I am passionate about our town. I could list all of the things I have worked on since I was elected in 2014 but the work is the work of the entire board. No one individual accomplishes anything without the teamwork of the board. I have been very fortunate to work with boards with 4 different people who all have made the board energetic and vital. If you are interested in the specific projects that I have worked on you can look at my bio online at my Vote Nadine Hawver Facebook page
Instead of touting my own accomplishments I thought some quotes from my supporters might make for more interesting reading.
“We don’t need any disruption. In our town we need people who are seasoned veterans who know what is going on.” David Macy, Sheffield Finance Committee
“We have known Nadine Hawver for 14 years. We know her to be friendly, open and honest. In her tenure on the Sheffield Selectboard, she has shown that she cares deeply for Sheffield and all of its citizens, while looking out for the taxpayer. She understands the necessary procedures, protocols and obligatory independence from special interests as a Selectman representing all residents.” Fred and Michelle Harwood, residents
“This lady takes our town very seriously, especially when it comes to the taxpayer’s money. Nadine listens to what is presented for consideration then she will take the time to inquire further, doing her research and asking questions to come to the best conclusion.” Sharen Engwer, resident
“Why wouldn’t you vote for Nadine, no matter the issue she’s always there to listen and always follows through on her decisions.” Danny Watson, business owner
“The town and citizens of Sheffield are in good hands with her as our selectman.” Cheryl Ovitt, resident
Sheffield has been my home since 1977. I am not going anywhere. Sheffield is the home of my children and grandchildren. It is where my parents raised me; this is my forever home. I would be honored to serve another three years as Sheffield’s Selectman. Whoever you choose to vote for please vote on Monday, May 11th at the Sheffield Senior Center 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. or contact the Town Clerks office for an absentee or early voting form.
