Monument Mountain Regional High School announced that senior Audrey Allard, a four-year singer in the high school chorus, has been accepted into the Massachusetts All-State Chorus ensemble. To earn this coveted placement, Audrey competed against students from across the state and is one of just three vocalists from Monument to be chosen in the past 20 years.

On Saturday, March 29, Audrey will perform at Symphony Hall in Boston, along with the All-State Concert Band, Orchestra, and Jazz Band, under the direction of Dr. Julie Yu, professor of music at Oklahoma City University.
To audition for all-state, students first have to make it into their district festival and also qualify with their high school. Audrey auditioned for districts in November and then qualified for the all-state audition and was then chosen from that select group.
Audrey is quick to credit Julie Bickford, her longtime choral director both in and out of Monument. “The support from her has been especially impactful these past two years, since I joined her youth choir, Vocalis. Having her as my singing mentor has been such a gift.” Her parents, too, supported her passion for singing. “Since I was little both of them have given me various opportunities to sing in choirs, never holding me back from doing what I love! I am overjoyed and kind of surprised with my accomplishment getting into All-State and feeling very honored. I’m super excited to perform alongside so many talented singers across the state in March.”
“Audrey is an incredibly musical person and a leader in both the school ensemble and Vocalis Youth Choir,” Bickford said of her student. “I’m thrilled that she gets to cap off her senior year with this incredible opportunity. She deserves every moment of it!”
