Moira Teague Kelsey of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Great Barrington

The memorial mass for Moira will be held at San Jose Catholic Church on Friday, April 21 at 3 p.m.

Moira Teague Kelsey passed away suddenly in her home in Jacksonville, Fla., where she resided over the past two years. A former resident of Great Barrington, Moira was the daughter of the late Frank and Claire (Roberts) Teague and was born locally at Fairview Hospital.

Moira attended local schools graduating from Monument Mountain Regional. She then attended Boston College where she received her BS in Nursing and began her nursing career at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. After marriage she relocated to Columbus, Ohio, where she worked at Ohio State University Medical Center and worked with cardiac patients. At OSU, she eventually received her Masters degree in Exercise Physiology. Later in her career at OSU, she became the Director of Palliative Care where she was instrumental in establishing its Hospice program. Moira had a long and successful nursing career where she was able to help many patients and assist her medical peers.

Upon retirement, Moira moved to Jacksonville to live near her beloved cousins, Lisa Frison, Terri Anne, and Dan Leahy, who were most helpful in caring for Moira when she experienced many health issues.

We will remember her as a caring, fun-loving person who was a dedicated to her nursing profession. Along with dozens of other cousins, Moira leaves behind her four brothers: Frank (Dee) of Hingham, Mass.; Terry (Dana) of Brookline, Mass.; Patrick (Fran) of New Lebanon, N.Y.; and Sean (Nancy) Teague. Moira tragically lost her only son, Michael, in 2017.

The memorial mass will be held at San Jose Catholic Church on Friday, April 21 at 3 p.m.
