Michael P. Keefner, 71, of Great Barrington

Family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 5, between 12 and 1 p.m., at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home, with a service to follow.

Michael P. Keefner, of Great Barrington, passed at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was born August 16, 1953, in Great Barrington.

Mike was a military police officer in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. He went on to be a mechanic and retired from B&D of Canaan, Conn. He also worked occasionally as a carpenter with his father.

Mike is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Jean Keefner; his sister, Kathy Keefner; and a grandchild, Zachary.

Mike’s most beloved pastime was enjoying his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. He also loved riding his motorcycle, tinkering with cars, and fishing.

Mike leaves behind his wife Sylvia; his five children, Michael Jr., Christopher, Eric, Shawn, and Ebony; and his grandchildren, Miranda, Eric, Jason, Zoey, Christopher, Isaiah, Cameron, Ajanae, Savaughna, and Zacarri. He also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Alanna, Alora, Silos, and Christopher Wyatt, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thank you to Macedonia Baptist Church and Reverend Mattie Conaway for all of your love and support.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, between 12 and 1 p.m., at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA, with a service to follow. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help with his final expenses. Condolences may be made through the funeral home’s website.
