Michael P. Kane, 61, of Great Barrington

Michael was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Michael P. Kane, 61, of Spruce Street in Great Barrington died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Fairview Hospital after being stricken earlier at home.

Born December 1, 1954 in Pittsfield, Mass., he was the son of the late James and Patricia Tripp Kane. He was a 1972 graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School.

Michael was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed four wheeling with his son and grandson and up until recently he played on a local softball team. He was an avid hunter; he loved NASCAR and was a passionate fan for the Mets and the Patriots.

He is survived by his children, Matthew and Amanda Kane, his grandson Isaiah, brother James Kane, three sisters, Gwen Sullivan and husband Brian, Kelly Bianco and husband Paul and Patty Kay and husband Joe. He also leaves his longtime companion Annette Selva as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents as well as his brother Timmy.

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church in Great Barrington, conducted by Rev. William P. Murphy.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 8, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington.
