Michael Murch Sr., 66, of Lanesborough

Michael Sr. enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, working for Elder Services, going on vacations with his grandchildren, and going to Saratoga to the races and casinos.

Michael Murch Sr. passed away surrounded by his family in his home in Lanesborough on Sept. 7, 2017. He was born to George Jr. and Eileen Murch in Northampton on Jan. 5, 1951. Michael Sr. enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, working for Elder Services, going on vacations with his grandchildren, and going to Saratoga to the races and casinos.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Peggy Murch, and grandsons who resided in his home: Blake Chadler, Ashton and Brentton Murch Jr. and partner Katy McCann and John Benoit and partner Nicole Yamaji; his other grandchildren Alyssa, Nathan, Emily, Sarah, Megan and Sammie; and his sisters Judy Clayton and Noreen Beebe and husband Dick. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother George Murch III.

The celebration of life memorial for Michael Sr. will be held at the Locker Room Sports Bar in Lee on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m.
