Michael John Lucey, age 58, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024. Born on September 30, 1966, in North Adams, Michael was the beloved son of Anne Marie and John Lucey. He was raised in Great Barrington and later established his life in Pittsburgh.
Michael is survived by his cherished children, Madeline Lucey and John “Max” Lucey, and his former wife, Connie Lampenfield Lucey. Michael also leaves behind his loving siblings, Theresa (Lucey) Rumph, Heather (Lucey) Twing and husband Gilbert, Rob Lucey, Mark Lucey and wife Jenise, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Michael’s early life was marked by his athletic prowess, excelling in soccer, basketball, and particularly baseball during his time at Monument Mountain Regional High School. He furthered his education with a year of postgraduate studies at Berkshire School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Bethany College in West Virginia. After college, Michael ventured to the West Coast, where he embarked on a successful career in sales with Electrolux, quickly distinguishing himself as a top salesman. His natural charm and determination led him to excel in the field of medical sales, where he consistently achieved top sales honors across various companies.
In his later years, Michael found joy in live music, long walks, and the company of his children, who were the anchors of his world. His tenacity for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Michael’s life was a testament to his dedication and passion, leaving a lasting impact on his family, friends, and colleagues. May he rest in peace.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date to be held in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
