Michael Heath, 61, of Great Barrington

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a service celebrating Michael’s life at 11 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington.

Michael Heath, 61, of Main Street in Great Barrington, died Friday, February 9, 2024, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield following a brief battle with cancer. A native and lifelong resident, Michael was born in Great Barrington on July 17, 1962, the son of the late Elery and Dorothy Ames Heath. He attended local schools.

Michael spent his career working in the food service industry at various establishments in Great Barrington. He worked as a dietary aide at Fairview Commons Nursing Facility, at the former Captain Toss Seafood Restaurant, and Dunkin Donuts, to name a few.

Michael is survived by his partner Tammy Kubik, his sister Linda Owens, his nephew Tony Vallone, and his niece Gina Vallone. He leaves his cousins, Lori Pothul, Ronnie Soldati, Jeanne Parsons, Robert Caffrey, and Ruth Ellen Richards, as well as many good friends, including Jim Korte and Jim Mercer. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Gus.

Along with his parents, Elery and Dorothy Heath, Michael was predeceased by his brother Mark Heath and his nephew Peter Vallone.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a service celebrating Michael’s life at 11 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230. A private burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington. The funeral for Mr. Francis T. Duke will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church in Lenox, with Rev. Michael Tuck officiating. Burial will be private in Corashire Cemetery in Monterey. There will be no calling hours.
