MassDOT to host a public meeting for Northern Tier Passenger Rail Study

The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 14, at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom.

Boston – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced it will host a virtual public information meeting for the Northern Tier Passenger Rail Study. The study is examining the potential benefits, costs, and investments necessary to implement passenger rail service from North Adams to Greenfield and Boston. The meeting is scheduled to be held on Thursday, July 14, at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom.

At this meeting, the study team will share an overview of the study’s background, review the existing conditions, and garner feedback on issues and opportunities along the corridor. The study team hopes that this railway could have the speed, frequency, and reliability necessary to be a competitive option for travel throughout the state.
