Mary Chague, 79, of Lee

She was a homemaker and a dedicated volunteer who enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Mary Chague (Rogers) died Saturday, July 7, at the Laurel Lake Center in Lee. She was 79.

Mrs. Chague was born October 8, 1938, in Lee, the daughter of Charles and Louise Jacquins Rogers. She graduated from Lee High School in 1956. She was a homemaker and a dedicated volunteer who enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Mary always had a sweet smile for all.

Mrs. Chague is survived by her two sons: James and Eugene Chague of Lee; four daughters: Teresa Hutchinson of Oklahoma, Pamela Cutt of Lee, Karen (Edwin) Sutton of Pittsfield and Melissa (Michael) Scolforo of Lee; her sister Sharon Rogers of Lenox; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa MacDowell and her brother Charles Rogers. Mary was also preceded in death by her biological mother, father and 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Mary Chague will be held Friday, July 13, at 11 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Lenox. Mary’s family will greet friends Friday, July 13, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in Mary’s name to St. Ann’s Parish in Lenox or St. Mary’s Parish in Lee in c/o the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
