Martha B. Germain, 78, of Lenox died Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 18, 1940, in Randolph, Vermont, to the late Wilfred and Glendeen Lemery Brock, she attended Mount Everett High School in Sheffield and was a 1958 graduate. Mrs. Germain was the co-owner of Germain Construction, and had also been employed at Sheffield Plastics, Berkshire Realty & Construction Co., and was the former Alford town clerk and a secretary at the McGee unit at Hillcrest Hospital. Martha enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and scrapbooking, and was a member of the Alford Garden Club. She also enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Germain married Mr. David G. Germain April 4, 1959; they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this coming April.
Besides her husband of Lenox, Martha is survived by her children Pamela G. Veazie (Glenn) of Pittsfield, David M. Germain (Roxanne) of Alford, and Merry Corbett (Christopher) of Clermont, Florida; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her brother Reginald Brock (Mary) of Salisbury, Connecticut. Besides her parents, Martha was predeceased by her brother Gordon Brock.
Per Martha’s wishes there, will be a private service and no calling hours. Burial will follow at a later date at the convenience of her family.
