Martha Ann Wool, 90, of Great Barrington

A graveside service for Martha Ann Wool will be held on Friday, June 9 at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington with Chaplain Larry Lake officiating.

Martha Ann Wool passed away on June 6, 2023 at Fairview Commons. She was born in Alford on January 29, 1933 to Richard and Gertrude Dellea. She grew up in Hillsdale, N.Y. and graduated from Roe Jan High School.

Martha married Alan A. Wool on April 16, 1955, and they raised their family on Hillside Avenue in Great Barrington.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Terry Hall, and her grandson, James, both of Monterey. Martha also leaves a brother, Paul Dellea of Hillsdale, and a sister, Carol Arienti of Great Barrington.

She is predeceased by her husband, Alan; her sons, Jeffrey and Brian Wool; her son-in-law, James N. Hall; her sisters, Shirley Wells and Barbara Muller; and her brother, Richard Dellea.

Martha was employed as a bookkeeper at Andrews Insurance and others. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson and volunteering at Fairview Hospital as well as bingo and lunch with friends at Claire Teague Senior Center. Also enjoyed reading, knitting, going for walks, and attending the community dinners. The family would like to thank the staff at Fairview Commons on Wing Two and the special staff from activities for all their love, support, and wonderful care. The family would also like to thank hospice health-care workers for their care and concern for all.

A graveside service for Martha Ann Wool will be held on Friday, June 9 at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington with Chaplain Larry Lake officiating. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Martha’s memory may be made to the Claire Teague Senior Center in care of the Birches-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Condolences may be made through the funeral home’s website.
