Mark E. West, 72, of Great Barrington

Mark worked as a plastics injection molding engineer for more than 40 years, and was also an antiques dealer and a guitar shop owner.

Mark E. West, 72, of Great Barrington, Mass., died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, the son of the late Arthur West and Jessie Cross West.

Mark grew up in Millburn N.J., attended Millburn High School and graduated from Irvington Tech. He raised his family in Long Hill Township, N.J., before moving to Great Barrington in 1991. Mark worked as a plastics injection molding engineer for more than 40 years, and was also an antiques dealer and a guitar shop owner. He was an Army Veteran, and a long-time member of the Springfield- Hillside Elks, No. 2004. Mark was passionate about music and woodworking.

Survivors include his partner, Caroline Gervasi of Great Barrington; sister, Alice J. West of Marina Del Rey, Calif.; two daughters, Leah A. West and her partner Michele Boudway of Stockton, N.J., Wendy Eberle and her husband Henry of Warren, N.J., and two grandchildren, Tyler Eberle and Lydia Eberle. A memorial will be celebrated Sunday, December 27, 2015, 2 – 6 p.m. at the Springfield-Hillside Elks, Springfield, NJ. Condolences may be made through Birchesroyfuneralservices.com.

Thomas F. ‘Walt’ Palivoda, 72, of Housatonic

Walt’s family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a funeral service officiated by Deacon Ed Shaw at Birches-Roy Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Wyantenuck Country Club. Private burial will be at a later date.

As requested, a private burial service for close family will be held at Ashley Falls Cemetery at a later date.
