Marjory “Gege” Kingston, of Stockbridge, passed away after a long illness on February 23, 2025. She was born in Pittsfield on March 25, 1939, to Kenneth and Jean Wilson. She had one brother, Ronald Wilson.

Gege’s husband of 50 years, John Kingston, passed away on December 5, 2017.
Gege attended the Northfield School and Wheelock College
Gege and her family have been a part of the fabric of Stockbridge for over 50 years. She was a member of the Stockbridge First Congregational Church, UCC, and delighted in being a member of the Festival Choral Chorus. Gege was a member of the Garden Center’s Herb Associates, the Laurel Hill Association, as well as being a fervent champion of the “Swap Shop.” For most every election, she volunteered as poll worker.
Gege’s interests were many. She had a love for music, mischief, and the arts—which included a passion for making felt, millinery, creating art out of found objects, jewelry… Over the years, her creations were shown at assorted local venues and galleries. Her love of life encompassed her curiosity, whimsy, creativity, and navigating challenges, as well as her devotion to her family, friends, and the Berkshires. Gege was a spirited medley of all of these.
Gege is survived by her son Palu Kingston, her devoted dog Sachi, as well as a host of friends and dear relatives. Her son Manu Kingston predeceased her on November 23, 2024.
A service to celebrate the life of Gege Kingston will be held in Stockbridge at the First Congregational Church, UCC, 4 Main Street, Stockbridge on Saturday, April 5, at 2 p.m. A reception will follow in the church’s Jonathan Edwards room.
