Marjorie ‘Peggy’ Hainer, 63, formerly of Housatonic

If there was one word to describe Peggy that word is love. She loved people. She especially cherished spending time with her family; each one of her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart. She loved to laugh, she loved food, music, and dogs -- who loved her back.

Marjorie “Peggy” Hainer, 63, went to be with her Lord Jesus early Wednesday morning, January 28, 2015 at The Reformed Presbyterian Home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she had been a resident for the past two and a half years. She will be missed dearly by her sister Betty Burger and her family.

Born August 2, 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William C. and Mildred Leonard Hainer. She attended Pittsburgh Public Schools.

Peggy moved to The Berkshires in March 1986 with her sister, Betty Burger, and her family. Through Berkshire County ARC she worked for a variety of local businesses for almost 20 years.

If there was one word to describe Peggy that word is love. She loved people. She especially cherished spending time with her family; each one of her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart. She loved to laugh, she loved food, music, and dogs — who loved her back. Most of all Peggy loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and lived the life he gave her with gusto. She was an active, communicant member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America, (until recently here in the Berkshire R. P. Church).

She is survived by her sister Betty Burger and her husband Charles of Housatonic; her eight nieces and nephews; Susan Edgar and her husband Alex; Charles Burger; Gretchen Hulley and her husband Dale; Liesl Lupoli and her husband Thomas; Heidi Ross and her husband Joshua; Derek Burger, Klara Burger, and Timothy Burger. She also leaves five grandnephews: Adam, Levi, Julian, Owen and Simon.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Marjorie “Peggy” Hainer will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. at the former Housatonic Congregational Church, 1089 Main St., Housatonic, Mass. Burial will be private.

There will be no calling hours.

Donations in her memory may be made to The Reformed Presbyterian Home through FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. To sign the guest book or send remembrances to her family go to www.finnertyandstevens.com.
