M. Dolores Pieropan, 90, of West Stockbridge

The family of M. Dolores Pieropan will receive friends on Monday, September 11, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home. A celebration of Dolores’ life will be held on Tuesday, September 12, at 12:30 p.m., at the Great Barrington Fish and Game at 338 Long Pond Road in Great Barrington.

M. Dolores Pieropan, 90, of West Stockbridge died Friday, September 8, 2023 at Kimball Farms in Lenox. She was born in Great Barrington on November 16, 1932, the daughter of Albert and Mildred (Allen) Rouhier. She was a graduate of the former Searles High School in the class of 1952.

Dolores was the co-owner and bookkeeper of Pieropan Oil Company with her husband, Guido, until 1985, and she then worked for Kimball Fuel in Great Barrington for several years. She was a communicant of the former Corpus Christi Church, now Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Housatonic.

Dolores was an avid participant in the annual church bazaar, a Red Sox fan, and loved to go dancing, especially to polkas at the annual polish picnics in Housatonic. A daytrip to Saratoga Horse Racing with family was an annual event, as she loved horses and all animals. At home, she enjoyed baking and knitting. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved attending her grandsons’ sporting events and taking pride in her granddaughters’ interests and achievements.

Dolores married Guido P. Pieropan at Saint Patrick’s Church in West Stockbridge on August 9, 1952. Guido predeceased her on September 1, 2007. Dolores is survived by her three sons, Jeffrey P. Pieropan (Tracy) of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Mark G Pieropan (Sarah) of Great Barrington, and Peter A. Pieropan of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; her five grandchildren, Michael, Lindsay (Tyler), Erik (Jaclyn), Aimee (William), and Kevin; her three great-grandchildren, Xander, Xavier, and Mason; and her nephew, Allan Rouhier (Jenifer) of Los Gatos, Calif. In addition to her husband, Guido, Dolores was predeceased by her brother, Donald Rouhier, and her niece, Denise Rouhier.

The family of M. Dolores Pieropan will receive friends on Monday, September 11, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. A celebration of Dolores’ life will be held on Tuesday, September 12, at 12:30 p.m., at the Great Barrington Fish and Game at 338 Long Pond Road in Great Barrington. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Dolores’ memory may be made to Saint Teresa of Calcutta Restoration Fund or HospiceCare in the Berkshires. Condolences can be made through the funeral home’s website.
