LuAnn Dombrowski, 71, of Mill River, passed away on March 28, 2025. Born September 23, 1953, in Hudson, N.Y., she was the second oldest daughter, out of four girls, to Marion and James Brauski. She attended Taconic Hills Regional High School in Philmont, N.Y.
LuAnn then married and moved to Rockaway, N.Y., with her husband, with whom she had three children, Christopher Dombrowski, Heather Dombrowski, and Alison Dombrowski. Her final destination was her home in the Berkshires, where she raised her three children.
LuAnn had a love for Walt Disney and made sure everyone was aware of this, as she had many Mickey Mouse items throughout her home. She would visit Walt Disney World with her oldest sister, Lee, and other family members as well.
LuAnn would light up any room and always had a smile on her face. She had the biggest and kindest heart. She had an unconditional love for her family and always put them above and beyond everyone, including herself. Her other passion was taking rides to the Beartown Forest to see the wildlife with her longtime companion of 35-plus years, John Goudey. LuAnn always kept going no matter what her conditions were.
She worked at BARC in Great Barrington to care for the individuals in need. LuAnn and John would dress up as Mickey and Minnie Santas to help celebrate Christmas and put a smile on everyone’s faces.
LuAnn is survived by her companion John Goudey of Mill River and his daughter Alicia Ryan of Sheffield; Christopher Dombrowski of Pittsfield and his wife Jill Marion, and their children, Mikayla Dombrowski of Mill River and Caiden Dombrowski; Heather Dombrowski and fiancé Camil Swierczynski of Sheffield, and their daughter Khloe J Swierczynski; Alison Firch of Rio Linda, Calif., and her husband Douglas Firch, and their daughter Kate Firch; and her niece and Goddaughter Minka Maddocks of Waterford, N.Y. She also leaves behind her sisters, Letty Malin of Craryville, N.Y., and Lori Brauski of Punxsutawney, Pa., as well as many other nieces and nephews on all sides of the family. LuAnn was loved by everyone!
In accordance with LuAnn’s wishes, a celebration of LuAnn’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital directly or in care of Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. If you can dream it, you can do it.
