Love found on Railroad Street: Musicians get engaged at Berkshire Busk!

During Michael Lesko & Suns' second set on Friday, Aug. 16, something very unexpected happened.

Great Barrington — This year’s season of the Berkshire Busk! concert series has had a little bit of everything: rock and roll, folk, jazz, blues, circus performers, fire dancers, there was even a conga line during a performance on July 27:

On Friday, August 16, Michael Lesko & Suns played on upper Railroad Street. The band included Lesko, whom The Berkshire Edge previously profiled last year. The band for that night included his girlfriend Sara Wallach, a local photographer who told the audience that she normally does not perform with the band.

During the band’s second set that night, something very unexpected happened. Right in the middle of the set, Lesko suddenly got on one knee and proposed to Wallach.

Wallach, stunned by Lesko’s proposal, said “yes.”

“Sincerity ahead, sometimes love takes a few tries to get it right, but it is worth going through the bumps along the way,” Wallach wrote on her Instagram account after announcing her engagement. “This world appears so cruel and heartless at times, but I know that love is coursing through everything and woven into each of us. My experience with love is that it has its own agenda, regardless of my input. In my little window into reality, love put me and Michael together and offered us this rare gift of overcoming our fears and blocks to love and becoming more of ourselves together. I am so happy and grateful to spend my life alongside him and have a partner to weather the storms; my deepest and silliest friend, my mirror, and the holder of the key to my heart. And I’m glad we stuck it out.”

Meanwhile, Berkshire Busk! continues on until Saturday, August 31. Check the Berkshire Busk! website for more information.
