Louis W. Sinico Sr., 91, of Great Barrington died Saturday May 7, 2016 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was born in West Stockbridge on December 10, 1924 son of Antonio and Palma (Dellea) (Pellegrini) Sinico.
Louis was educated in local schools and worked on the family’s farm and with the Town of Great Barrington in many departments until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed bowling and being with family and friends.
Louis’ first wife Betty A. (Race) Sinico predeceased him on March 21, 2004. Louis is survived by his second wife Rita (Rituno) Sinico; one daughter, Ann Barscz and her husband Bill; son-in-law Dan Gage; five step children, Josephine and Louis Caropreso, Theresa and John Segalla, Maryann Palermo, Rita and Robert Stevens and Arthur Palermo; one sister, Ann B. Sinico; two sisters-in-law Mildred Sinico and Lisa Duprey and her husband Roland; three grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife Betty A. (Race) Sinico, Louis was predeceased by two daughters, Deborah A. Sinico and Barbara J. Gage, one son Louis W. Sinico Jr., two brothers, Anthony Sinico and Joseph Sinico, and one sister, Rose Carlotto.
Funeral services for Louis W. Sinico Sr. will be held on Thursday May 12 at 10 a.m. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Saint Peter’s Church with the Rev. William P. Murphy, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
In keeping with Louis’ wishes there are no calling hours.
