Lisa C. (Korte) Caputzal was called home to her family in heaven on November 20, 2023, after bravely battling cancer.
Lisa was born in Great Barrington on May 14, 1958 to the late Arthur and Christine (Kubik) Korte. She graduated from Monument Mountain High School in 1976.
In 1978, Lisa married her husband Louis on a beautiful autumn day in Our Lady of The Valley Church in Sheffield. They recently celebrated 45 of married life. Together, Lisa and Lou built their homestead and started their family in Sheffield. Twenty years ago, however, they moved to their dream home and farm in South Annville, Penn. and began making new memories.
Lisa was the biggest supporter and advocate of her daughters, Carrie (James) Gilles, Caitlin, and Kimberly, and of her grandson Trevor Gilles. Lisa enjoyed day trips, especially around the Amish countryside. Those trips usually included a stop for Lapp’s Ice Cream. Eating dinner at Shady Maple was always a treat. Lisa would often say that her favorite thing to make for dinner was “a reservation.”
In recent years, she also enjoyed helping at the PA State Beekeeper’s annual conference. She worked at various jobs, but her fondest memories were as a kindergarten aide at Undermountain Elementary School in Sheffield. More recently, she was a longtime employee of Ebersole’s Automotive, currently Bennett’s.
In addition to her husband, children, and grandson, Lisa is survived by her sister Andrea (Billy) of Hawaii; her brother James (Rose) of Sheffield; her in-laws Frank (Lucille) of Port Chester, N.Y.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice For All Seasons of Grantville, Penn. or to a charity of your choice in Lisa’s memory. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lisa’s funeral service on Friday December 1, 2023, at 11 a.m., from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services LTD., 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon, PA. Viewing will be held Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday, from 10 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.
