News and Ideas Worth Sharing

HomeNewsObituariesLinda K. Chase,...

Linda K. Chase, 84, of Lenox

A graveside service, with a celebration of life following the service, will be held in the spring, Linda’s favorite time of year.

Linda K. Chase passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was married for 52 years to Donald A. Chase Sr., who predeceased her on October 21, 2012. Born in Sheffield on December 14, 1940, Linda was the daughter of the late Gordon and Kathryn (King) Gibbs.

Linda attended Sheffield schools, married, and started a family. When her youngest went off to school, she drove the kindergarten bus for the Bachetti Bus Company. She loved this job, looking forward to every day at work with the children who always made her laugh. She also worked in retail and housekeeping.

Linda and Don shared their love of bowling with friends, participating in several leagues, and enjoyed summers camping. In her later years, she and Don retired and moved to Bradenton, Fla., where she loved spending time with family and friends on Coquina Beach. They eventually returned to the Berkshires in 2010, where she enjoyed Sunday Coffee Klatches with family, Thursday night family pool gatherings, and spending more time spoiling, loving, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Her animated personality made all those around her smile and laugh.

Linda was so loved by her family and friends and is survived by her daughter Tracy Bordonaro and her husband Steve of Seffner, Fla.; her sons, Donald A. (Bud) Chase Jr. and his wife Lora of Bradenton, Fla., and Rick Chase and his wife Tina of New Marlborough; her grandchildren, Shane Bordonaro and his wife Maria, Jen Miller and her husband Gary, Connor, Nate, Max, and Grant Chase; her great-grandchildren, Malia and Michael Bordonaro; her sister Betty Petersen; her brother Tom Gibbs; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Correll Pezzee, Leslie Conklin, and Kathy Hutmaker, and four brothers, Gordon Gibbs, Richard Gibbs, James Gibbs, and Donald Gibbs.

A graveside service, with a celebration of life following the service, will be held in the spring, Linda’s favorite time of year. Linda’s family would like to thank everyone at Mount Carmel Care Center for the loving, compassionate care given to their mom. Also, to Deb and Renee for their never-ending support, care, and love for mom.
