Linda Fay Wheeler Mullany passed away on April 2, 2022. Born in Great Barrington on May 12, 1943, she was the daughter of Edith and Truman Wheeler, owners of the Wheeler Farm, which is now home to the Great Barrington Historical Society. Linda graduated from Searles High School and Saint Luke’s Nursing School.
Linda married her high school sweetheart, John Mullany, on July 31, 1964. They shared many happy memories, especially summer vacations on the Cape and a trip to Maine. They had one son, Christopher John Mullany.

As a registered nurse, Linda worked at Berkshire Medical Center for many years. Later, she and her good friend Sharon Powell opened Olde Village Army-Navy shop in Great Barrington. Many patrons, local teams, fire departments and organizations knew the store and its friendly staff.
Linda was a member of Wyantenuk Country Club and, after her retirement, spent wonderful time playing golf with her close friends.
Linda loved her gardens and the many animals who visited it over the years. She especially enjoyed her cat Donald. She was a no-fanfare person and, with her gifted, nurturing ways, always helped any and all with a loving and generous spirit.
Linda was predeceased by her husband John, her parents, and her brother Frank. She leaves her son Chris, who was her caretaker and best friend. She also leaves her nieces, Jennifer DelVaglios and Amanda Eksters, as well as her brothers and sisters in-law, James and Peter Mullany, Jeanne Davidson, and Anne Argento.
