Leno Collari, 91, of Great Barrington

Leno worked as a storekeeper for the highway department for the state of Massachusetts for over 40 years.

Leno Collari, 91, of Great Barrington died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington. Leno was born Feb. 10, 1927, at his home in Great Barrington, the son of Alolpho and Alda (Moll) Collari. He was a graduate of the former Searles High School and, after graduation, proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Leno worked as a storekeeper for the highway department for the state of Massachusetts for over 40 years. He was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church and a life member of the James A. Modolo VFW Post #8348.

Leno is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy (Orcutt) Collari of Great Barrington, whom he married Oct. 14, 1950; and son David Collari of Housatonic. Leno was predeceased by son Richard “Dick” Collari; and two sisters: Mary and Natalie.

A private funeral for Leno Collari was held Friday, Dec. 28, in Saint Peter’s Cemetery with Reverend William P. Murphy, pastor, officiating. BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOMEis entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be made through birchesroyfuneralservices.com.
