To the editor:
I recently had the privilege of meeting selectboard candidate Leigh Davis and then seeing her again at the Great Barrington candidates’ forum. She has all the right skills to help build a more sustainably prosperous future for our town.
One of the fresh ideas she would implement is an even greater use of outside grants to finance town projects without increasing the tax rate. She knows how to get this job done because of her work as development director at Eagle Mill Redevelopment in Lee and elsewhere. Her professional background also gives her insights and proven skills in marketing and other economic initiatives, the efficient management of town properties, and environmental sustainability.
Leigh’s served admirably on the Great Barrington Finance Committee. She understands town finances well. She’s built deep roots in the community through a wide range of volunteer activities. She’s raised three kids here. Her incredible energy, generosity of spirit and capacity for commitment means she will consistently be there for our town.
Vote for Leigh Davis for selectboard. She’s the right person for Great Barrington’s future.
