Lawrence Edward Moore Sr., 78, formerly of Housatonic

Larry was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and golfing, but most of all he loved his family who always came first.

Lawrence Edward Moore Sr. of Deltona, Fla., formerly of Housatonic, passed away on January 3, 2023 at the age of 78. He was born on December 6, 1945 to Charles and Doris (Smith) Moore in Hudson, N.Y.

Larry attended local schools and after graduation worked for Rising Paper Company until his retirement. Larry married the love of his life, Sharon Gillett Moore, on January 14, 1967. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and golfing, but most of all he loved his family who always came first.

Besides his wife of 56 years, he is survived by three children, Kelly Moore of Canaan, Conn.; Lawrence Jr. of West Virginia; and Jennifer Race of Deltona, Fla. He is also survived by his brothers, Gilbert and Kevin of Florida; his sister, Pamela Emmons of Vermont; Terry Ramos of Great Barrington; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Lawrence was predeceased by his brother, Wayne.

Funeral services were private.

Funeral Mass for Robert F. "Bob" Keefner will be held on Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Saint Peter’s Church in Great Barrington with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
