North Adams — Law enforcement officials arrested 49-year-old Luis Rosado of North Adams this morning on a murder charge for the death of his wife, Jillian Rosado.
Members of the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, North Adams Police Department, Pittsfield Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section brought Rosado into custody from an apartment on Fenn Street in Pittsfield at approximately 8:30 a.m. without incident.
The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office expects the court to arraign Luis Rosado this afternoon on a single count of murder in Central Berkshire District Court.
“I send my deep condolences to Mrs. Rosado’s family for the heartbreak and pain they are experiencing. I thank all law enforcement agencies who put all of their energy into investigating this homicide,” said District Attorney Andrea Harrington.
North Adams Police and Northern Berkshire Emergency Medical Services responded to a residence on Charles Street in North Adams after receiving a 911 call at approximately 7:54 p.m. Sunday. EMS pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington, Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services, and forensic scientists from the Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab also responded to the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner took custody of the body and determined Mrs. Rosado died of multiple stab wounds. Law Enforcement established probable cause and obtained the arrest warrant on Tuesday.
