Laura Ann (Burkhardt) Batch passed away March 13, 2018, at home in Ashley Falls after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Her generous spirit and warm smile will be missed by all who knew her.
She was born July 23, 1951, to the late Bonnie (Huscamp) and Orion Burkhardt Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri. Laura leaves behind her husband, Gregory Batch; daughter Kari Shoemaker and husband Drew of New Canaan, Connecticut; grandchildren Hayden and Riley Shoemaker; brother Terrance (Burk) Burkhardt and wife Kay Ogren of Anacortes, Washington; brother-in-law Gary Batch and wife Linda of Seattle, Washington; sister-in-law Geralyn Schoenberg and husband Richard of Defiance, Missouri; brother-in-law Donald Batch and wife Loraine of High Ridge, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her parents and brother Peter Jon Burkhardt.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, March 23, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Canaan, Connecticut. A celebration of life will be held in April in Houston, Texas.
