Kohl’s to open on Nov. 4 in Lenox

Kohl's Department Store is scheduled to open at The Center at Lenox on Friday, November 4 as part of the corporations real estate strategy to open 100 smaller format stores throughout the country.

Lenox — Kohl’s Department Store is scheduled to open at The Center at Lenox shopping complex on Friday, November 4. The shopping center is located at 489 Pittsfield Rd. and currently includes national retailers Marshalls, Market 32, and CVS.

Kohl’s is a department store chain that sells clothes, home goods, furniture, toys, jewelry, and various other products. Company representative Carolyn Lang wrote via email that, with the Lenox store opening, there will be 26 stores in the state. According to its website, there are currently more than 1,100 Kohl’s stores in 49 states.

Lang wrote that the store will be 35,000 square feet and include national brands including Under Armour, Levis, and Champion, along with Kohl’s brands including Sonoma Goods For Life, and LC by Lauren Conrad. “It will feature Kohl’s refreshed, modernized design which will deliver discovery, inspiration, and convenience to customers,” Lang wrote. “It will also include bright, open aisles for easy navigation, and customer conveniences to make the shopping experience even easier, including self-returns, self-pickup for eligible online orders, and Amazon Returns.”

Lang wrote that the store will create 10 full-time positions and 50 part-time positions.

She added that the opening of the Lenox store falls in line with the company’s real estate strategies for the next four years. According to the company’s corporate website, the opening of the Lenox store is part of Kohl’s strategy to open 100 smaller format stores throughout the country. “The average Kohl’s store of around 80,000 square feet is too large for many small markets,” company representative Jen Johnson wrote in the press release on Kohl’s website. “By introducing these smaller format stores, most at approximately 35,000 square feet, Kohl’s gains the flexibility to enter new neighborhoods while also providing a hyper-localized experience to cater to the community’s needs.”
