It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we say goodbye to Kathleen Lynn Godfrey, who passed away on June 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and joy that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Kathy was beautiful—inside and out. Her warmth, empathy, and vivacious spirit made her a light in the lives of her family, friends, and all who crossed her path. With a sense of humor that could lift even the heaviest of hearts, her infectious smile and striking blue eyes brightened any room. She had the ability to be endearingly hilarious without knowing it. Whether through a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or a perfectly timed joke, she had an incredible way of making people feel seen, appreciated, and loved.
Kathy’s boundless creativity and extraordinary artistic gift enriched the lives of all who knew her. Her work was not only a reflection of her talent but a testament to her deep passion for beauty and expression.
A dedicated and compassionate psychiatric nurse, Kathy was well known in her community for her unwavering kindness and selfless care. She gave of herself without hesitation, touching countless lives with her generosity and steadfast support, leaving behind a legacy of love that will endure.
Kathy’s life was a testament to resilience, grace, and an unwavering belief in transformation. Guided by her faith, she embraced each day with gratitude, strength, and an open heart, inspiring those around her with her wisdom and compassion. Her journey was one of deep reflection and purpose, and she carried that sense of devotion into every aspect of her life.
She is survived by her cherished daughter Havah Wendling (Randy); her adored grandchildren, Makayla Powers (Cam), Mackenzi Powers (Sam), and Jack and Devin Wendling; and her beloved step-grandchildren, Chloe and Chase Wendling. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings—Karen Waters, Leigh Godfrey, Shaunnah Godfrey, John Godfrey (Anita), Holly Papa (Steve), Debbie O’Leary (William), and Candace Lyon (Marc)—who will forever hold her memory close. Kathy leaves behind her beloved aunts, Linda Morini and Wendy Tataro, as well as many nieces and nephews, who cherished their Aunt Kathy and will forever carry her love in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley E. Anthony and her brother-in-law Ron, nephew Michael, and niece Devin Petelski.
Beyond her family, Kathy leaves behind a multitude of devoted friends who adored her. Those closest to her include Peter DeLuca, Deb Francome, John Zarvis, Honey Wendling, Rosemary Lahart, and Mary Lou Murphy, as well as many others who had the privilege of sharing in her laughter, kindness, and joy. To meet Kathy was to love her as she had the ability to make everyone she encountered feel like her closest friend. She is deeply missed by her precious puppy, Fig, her constant companion who remains “perfect in every way.”
Kathy leaves behind a grieving yet deeply grateful community at The Curtis Hotel in Lenox where she made her home. Her presence there was a source of inspiration and warmth to all who knew her.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will take place at The Proprietor’s Lodge, 22 Waubeek Road, Pittsfield, MA, on Friday, June 20, from noon until 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be sent to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, The Brien Center, or a charity of your choice in her honor, ensuring her spirit of generosity and love continues to touch lives.
