Julia Ruth Harmon, 60, of Great Barrington

In keeping with Julie’s wishes, there are no services. A Celebration of Julia’s Life will be held at a later time.

Julia Ruth Harmon, 60, of Great Barrington died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Julie was born in Pittsfield on August 19, 1963, the daughter of John A. Sr. and Evelyn (Hubbard) Harmon.

Julie attended Lee High School and was a graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School. Julie went on to attain an Associate’s Degree from Berkshire Community College in Child Care. She worked for Child Care of the Berkshires and also for Barrington Bear Care from when they opened until they closed. Julie also worked for several food service establishments, including, most recently, McDonald’s in Great Barrington. She enjoyed house-/dogsitting for her sister and brother-in-law, day trips, the Red Sox, and vintage 1960s and ’70s TV shows.

Julie was predeceased her parents and her significant other, Victor. Julie is survived by her sister Jackie Harmon Moffatt and husband Earl of West Stockbridge; her brothers, John A. Harmon Jr. and wife Colleen of Cheshire and James A. Harmon and wife Noreen of South Easton; and her nieces and nephews, Kelly MacPherson (Danny), Brenna Sapienza (T.J), Andrew Harmon (Samantha), Ethan Harmon (Lauren), Courtney Harmon (Cameron), and Elyse Harmon; her great-niece Parker MacPherson; and cousins and friends who will all miss her witty, fun comments.

In keeping with Julie’s wishes, there are no services. A Celebration of Julia’s Life will be held at a later time. Birches-Roy Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Julie’s memory may be made to Birches-Roy Funeral Home to defray funeral expenses. Condolences may be made through the funeral home’s website.

A funeral service for Roberta 'Bobbie' Nussbaum will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, conducted by Rabbi Barbara Cohen. Burial will follow at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
