Judith Anne (Steward) Bunnell, 85, formerly of Great Barrington

A graveside memorial and service will be held at the Fairmont Cemetery in Lee on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Judith Anne (Steward) Bunnell, 85, Williston, Fla. and formerly of Great Barrington, died Tuesday, April 23, in Gainesville, Fla. in Haven Hospice Care with her daughter Joanne and grandson Adam by her side. Judy was born to Harold S. and Grace R. Steward on October 28, 1938. She graduated from Lee High School in 1956.

Judy worked for Fairview Hospital as the head of purchasing for many years before moving to Florida in the 1990s. It was there she was able to enjoy her love of horses by working with Thoroughbreds in Ocala, Fla.

Judy was predeceased by her parents, Harold S. and Grace R. Steward, as well as her longtime partner David Sloan. She leaves behind five children, Joanne Vargas (Rick) of Great Barrington, Jennifer Hayford of Ocala, Fla., Christopher Bunnell (Penelope) of Virginia Beach, Va., Lisa Korte (Bill) of West Stockbridge, and Steven Ford (Meredith) of Lee; eight grandchildren, Christopher Vargas, Adam Vargas, Daniel Korte, Jason Korte, Darrin Korte, Danielle Hayford, Teddy Bunnell, and Morty Bunnell; as well as many great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial and service will be held at the Fairmont Cemetery in Lee on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend. Condolences may be made through the website of Birches Roy Funeral Home.
