He spent many years coaching West Stockbridge Little League. Before games and practices, the kids could be seen piling into the station wagon for a ride to the field.

Joseph is survived by his daughter, Darlene DelSoldato of Tybee, Georgia; and three sons: Joseph DelSoldato and wife Julie of Danby, Vermont, William DelSoldato and wife Sheila of Lee, and Mark DelSoldato of Pittsfield. He also leaves two sisters: Gloria Mintz of Sheffield and Linda Kot of Sheffield; eight grandchildren: Jerome, Joseph, Jesse, Michael, Sarah, Luke, Kyle and Brooke; and 10 great-grandchildren: Tamara, Hollis, Rhilynne, Jackson, Sawyer, Tallon, Evan, Makayla, Lillian and Anthony. He was predeceased Aug. 5, 2002, by his wife of 49 years, Lillian J. Verchot DelSoldato. The couple was married Oct. 11, 1952 at St. Patrick’s Church in West Stockbridge. He was also predeceased by his brother, Harry DelSoldato; and grandson Dante Straughn.
