John Stengle, 73, of Richmond

He resigned in 1972 to start his own business, Berkshire Drywall Company, in Richmond.

John A. Stengle, 73, of Richmond passed away peacefully April 18, 2020.John was born in Cambridge to the late Charles A. and Dorothy Scheid Stengle. He attended Arlington High School in Arlington, was a graduate of Lawrence Academy in Groton in 1965, and he attended Nichols College in Dudley from 1965 to 1968. In 1970, he joined National Gypsum Company as a salesman in Pittsfield. He resigned in 1972 to start his own business, Berkshire Drywall Company, in Richmond. Mr. Stengle was a past member of the Stockbridge Sportsmen’s Club, Stockbridge Golf Club and Trout Unlimited. He was an avid hunter and golfer.

John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joanna H. Stengle; and brother Robert E. Stengle. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by brother Charles E. Stengle.

The funeral will take place at Dewey Hall in Sheffield on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 11 a.m., followed immediately by internment at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery in Great Barrington. A livestream of the funeral service will be available.

Dorothy J. Fuller, 93, of Great Barrington

A graveside service will be scheduled in the spring.

Robert Alvin White Jr., 78, of Lenox

In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Beacon Center in Madison, Wis., where his niece Sara dedicated her time to supporting the unhoused; the Sara Marie White Memorial Epilepsy Scholarship; or the restoration of the Lenox Meeting house.
