John Snyder, 83, of Great Barrington

For all and any who would like to share their condolences, in lieu of a wake, there will be a calling hour for any last respects from 10 to 11 a.m., on Tuesday, February 20, at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. This will be followed by a quick service at the funeral home, then proceeding to St. Peter’s cemetery for burial.

John Snyder, 83, a resident of Great Barrington, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Born in Egremont, on March 22, 1940, he was the son of William and Louise Morandi Snyder.

John was a husband, father, papa, and more. He was the supervisor of the minerals department for Pfizer for over 40 years. John also served in the Army Reserves from 1961 to 1963. He was a true leader and had a love for hunting, bowling, and golfing.

Anyone who was lucky enough to know John knew how genuine, humble, and caring he was. He loved his family more than anything.

John is predeceased by his late wife of over 60 years, Barbara Snyder, and siblings Billy and Betty-Anne.

He leaves behind siblings Shirley Roots, Nancy Peck, Lorraine Love, Anne McDermott, Lily Hankey, Janey Eichstedt, James Snyder, David Snyder, and Larry Ball; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Ed Pruhenski; his three sons, John Snyder Jr (Joely), Joe Snyder (Nicole), and Jeff Snyder (Elizabeth); as well as his grandchildren, Skylar, Autumn, Caitlyn, Giada, Parker, and Ricky.

For all and any who would like to share their condolences, in lieu of a wake, there will be a calling hour for any last respects from 10 to 11 a.m., on Tuesday, February 20, at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. This will be followed by a quick service at the funeral home, then proceeding to St. Peter’s cemetery for burial. Francis Thomas Duke Jr., 82, of Lenox

The funeral for Mr. Francis T. Duke will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church in Lenox, with Rev. Michael Tuck officiating. Burial will be private in Corashire Cemetery in Monterey. There will be no calling hours.

Jeffrey E. van Lingen, 62, of Lenox

There will be a service held on Wednesday, May 14, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Roche Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 13, from 4 to 7 p.m.
