Born in Tennessee in 1987, John Rybacki left us in February 2024, just shy of his 37th birthday.
You might say he lived large: John was a big guy with a big heart, a warm smile, and a wide circle of family and friends whom he adored.

John grew up in Great Barrington, where he attended local schools. He graduated from high school in Florida and then earned an associates degree from Berkshire Community College.
John was drawn to the trades and pursued a certificate in welding and an apprentice program with the Ironworker’s Local 7 in Boston. He then became a journeyman ironworker and worked for a number of companies on projects across Massachusetts.
John’s interests centered on his family and friends and included boating, fishing, modifying cars, football, and cooking.
John is survived by his children, Blake Rybacki and Isabella Crittendon; his sister Kendall Rybacki; and his parents, Peter and Geri Rybacki of Great Barrington.
John’s family is so grateful to the staffs of Fairview Hospital, Berkshire Medical Center, and CHP Berkshires for their support through John’s brief illness. If you would like to make a memorial donation, please consider one of them or a charity of your choice.
Calling hours will be at Finnerty & Stevens in Great Barrington on Wednesday, February 28, from 12 to 2 p.m. A Remembrance gathering will follow at Crissey Farms in Great Barrington. To send remembrances to his family, please visit the funeral home’s website.
