On February 24, John Evans suffered a heart attack while hiking with family in Moab, Utah, and passed on. His spirit lives on with his wife Elena; their three sons, Ian, Colin, and Owen; two grandchildren; his six siblings; and the countless people “all over the where” who loved him. This modern day renaissance man filled the world with his art, optimism, humor, and general nonsense. John’s passion for the beautiful game was less about sport than its ability to bring people together.

The family will receive friends at Birches-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230, on Wednesday, March 8 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

John’s celebration of life well-lived will be held at Saint James Place, 352 Main St, Great Barrington, MA 01230, on Thursday, March 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
