Joanna J. Epstein died April 9, 2024, at Ghent Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Ghent, N.Y., with her mother at her side. She was 49 years old.
Born on June 16, 1974, in Hollywood, Fla., she was the daughter of Francine (Tepper) Eget and the late Prof. Anatol Epstein. She graduated from Richmond Hill High School and later attended Pace University.
Joanna is survived by her devoted mother Francine Eget; her life partner Kevin O’Rourke; her uncle, Dr. Jesse Tepper; her aunt Dr. Brenda Tepper; her first cousins, Jonathan and Elizabeth Tepper; many second cousins; multiple half siblings; her devoted friend Roey Levy; and her devoted caretaker Sharon Morris. She also leaves her cat, Chuchy, and many neighborhood felines who were often in her care.
Joanna was a brilliant, beautiful, and creative young woman who showed extraordinary strength and grace facing M.S. and other life challenges.
