Joan Marks, 61, of Great Barrington

She attended Mount Everett Regional High School.

Joan Marie Hankey Marks, 61, a native and lifelong resident, passed away Sept. 5, 2019, at Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Great Barrington. Born Oct. 16, 1957, in Great Barrington, Joan was the daughter of Irving and Joyce May Davis Hankey. She attended Mount Everett Regional High School.

Joan is survived by her son, Mort Hankey; and her daughter, Samantha Marks. She also leaves her brother, Richard (Rick) Hankey of Mill River; her grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Glenn Marks; her son William W. Hankey; and her brother Irving Hankey.

A graveside service celebrating the life of both Joan and her son William W. Hankey will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at 2:30 p.m. at the Mill River Cemetery, Mill River Southfield Road in New Marlborough. There will be no calling hours. Donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Joan H. Marks Memorial Fund through FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230, which is caring for the arrangements. A funeral service for Roberta 'Bobbie' Nussbaum will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, conducted by Rabbi Barbara Cohen. Burial will follow at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
