Joan Agnes Bailey, 89, of Lenox, died Tuesday afternoon at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center. Born in Pittsfield on January 11, 1933, the daughter of Arthur and Agnes McCabe Roberts, she attended local schools and was a 1950 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Joan was employed for 28 years at the former Edgecombe Nursing Home in Lenox where she worked with patients in the physical therapy department, retiring several years ago.
She and her husband, Carlson B. Bailey, were married in St. Theresa’s Church in Pittsfield on November 8, 1952. Mr. Bailey predeceased her on December 17, 1989. Joan and her husband raised their family in Lenox Dale where she was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Parish for many years.
She is survived by her four daughters, Deborah A. Strycharz of Westfield, Susan J. Casey (Robert) of Lenox Dale, Catherine Perry (Mark) of Pittsfield, and Ellen M. Quinn (Jeffrey) of Guilderland, N.Y.; grandchildren, Jaclyn, Kaitlin, Tyler, Connor, Danielle, Cydney, and Mackenzie; and three great-grandchildren, Fiona, Lucy, and Margaux.
Besides her husband, Joan was predeceased by her son, Michael A. Bailey, on Oct. 8, 2009; her son-in-law, Lawrence Strycharz; and her 3 brothers, William, A. Richard, and John Roberts.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Joan A. Bailey will be Monday morning, November 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church celebrated by the Rev. Monsignor John J. Bonzagni, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lee. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Brien Center in care of the Rocke Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
